We have enjoyed the most spectacular 4 days at Braeside. The cottage exceeded our expectations and made it difficult to find motivation to explore the wineries and leave the house. We’ll definitely be recommending Braeside to our friends—but only our favorites—we want to come back very soon ourselves. Pure heaven…

Magnificence at it’s best |

We don’t want to leave!!! Magnificence at it’s best. All of the Braeside team have made us feel so welcome—it’s country hospitality at it’s finest. We have already told some friends about this piece of heaven on earth. Myrt’s gardens will forever be a special part of this visit. Braeside had been the highlight of our holiday. Lili is going to miss the chickens in the morning & the feeding of the goats twice a day!!! Home is going to seem so boring in comparison.

Thank you for the wonderful time we had a Braeside – it was a great luxury being able to be in such a beautiful place with such luxurious surroundings. I don’t know how you have done it but you have managed to weave 5 star resort and country farm experience into one place, eating outside under the pine tree and looking at the stars, wandering onto a private tennis court when ever you felt like it – cooking an eating in a beautifully appointed kitchen – touring the wineries, buying local produce and cooking a feast – wandering along the creek banks.

greatest toy is not a gameboy ... |
This is just a note to tell you what a terrific time we all had at Braeside. t wasn’t just that it was comfortable and luxurious – because it was – but all the surprising things about staying on such a beautiful property. We all enjoyed the tennis court, the eating and drinking on he balcony looking out over the hills, sitting in front of the fire place on the cool evenings but what was really surprising was how relaxing it was to be in the beautiful Queensland countryside. The biggest surprise was how the children reacted to being on a working farm and how much pressure they are putting on us to return. It turns out that the greatest toy for kids isn’t a gameboy but a creek, some ducks, chickens goats and the ability to roam without us knowing where they are every second of the day and the great excitement every morning of collecting the eggs.The highlight for them wasn’t the walks or the creek – it was cooking and eating dinner down by the creek, sitting out under the stars and getting to grips with a new idea of time and space.

As a family that has traveled extensively we have stayed in fabulous places, both glitzy and simple, all over the world. Discovering Braeside as a combination of the two in rural Queensland has been a true pleasure and as you know, we are already planning another retreat at Braeside.
Braeside gave us the five-star luxury we were used to but an intimate and private environment that we haven’t found in any resort. Our two children thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of Braeside’s natural rural setting and farm activities as a stimulating break from cloistered city-life. We had a barbecue and campfire damper at the creek based on the food hamper provided at the beginning of our stay – in fact there wasn’t a hungry moment even with two always “starving” boys.
But when all is said and done, our favourite things were the unbelievably heavenly beds and the night-time environment with the lights, the sounds of water from the fountains and the Australian night sky. And the visit to the Governor’s bar on the way to the verandah! Thank you again, can’t wait to get back.
