Early historical records indicate the presence of a rose garden around the homestead. Unfortunately today nothing remains of the original rose garden.

As with most things, gardens evolve over time as tastes and trends change. So we have designed a formal rose garden around the front verandah. We have chosen to use a combination of traditional and modern roses and compliment them with box hedging and topiary.

Here you can see the start of the garden. Under the blue skip is paving stones which where laid in the late 1990s. They have been removed and the Rose garden beds established.

The rose garden is now ready for planting, the fountain has been installed and the plants are ready to go in as soon as the painters have finished.

Formal Rose Garden

Roses have been selected for a combination of colour, fragrance and repeat flowering. Large formal garden beds have been formed surrounding the homestead and have planted with a mixture of David Austin, Floribunda and Hybrid Tea roses, underplanted with fragrant bulbs.
