OVer the past 12 months extensive work has been done to the homestead. Most of the renovation work has focused on building restoration rather than remodeling.

Although most of the work has been finished today, we made detailed records as the work proceeded and over the next few months will add some of the more interesting photos to this blog.

The core of the homestead was built in 1870's, and was of Iron bark timber slab with a shingled roof. When the home was extended in the late 1800's they didn’t rebuild from scratch, the built upon the existing building. When we replaced some corrugated iron in the roof, we got to see the old shingled roof close up. Each single is made of iron bark and would have been hand made.
