Walking Track

There are 3 easy walks around the homestead. These are on graded paths, there are no fences to climb though, but there are a few stones and a couple hills to go up.

#1 - Creek Walk (1km - Easy)
This is a pleasant walk on mostly level ground that takes you around the homestead yards. Leave the mail box and head towards the creek. Go through the "Creek Walk" gate then follow the front of the house. The original stone wall, which was built in the 1800's, is still clearly visible. Continue down past the windmill and the failed weir. Follow the path; it will take you down past the causeway, the Platypus Hole picnic area, around past the Cow Paddle Picnic area to the old stock yards. Go through the gates and follow the wooden picket fence back to the mail box.

#2 - Duck Dam Walk (3km - Easy-Medium)
Start at the mail box and follow the creek walk, turn right at the causeway and cross it. 200 metres up the hill turn right. There is a ladder to help you cross the fence. Follow the path and it will take you past a small dam and then onto the larger dam, Duck Dam. Walk around the dam wall to the other side. Follow the path to the fence and cross the fence using the second ladder.  There is a great viewing spot here over looking the homestead. Follow the path down past the failed weir, past the poplar trees, cross the creek at the old stone causeway, then through the gate and back to the mail box.

#3 - Horse Paddock Walk. (2km - Easy-Medium)
Start at the mail box and follow the creek walk as above. At the Causeway turn right and cross it. 200 metres up the hill turn left and follow the track. This will take you along the top side of the creek and gives you a bird’s eye view of the Braeside property. From the viewing area above the creek walk down the fence line and go through the gate and walk down to the creek. Cross the creek and you are at the Cow Paddle picnic area. Go through the gates at the old stock yards and follow the wooden picket fence back to the mail box.
